0040 Sleeping during the Pandemic: COVID-19-related stressors and their influence on parental sleep, parenting, and children’s psychosocial health

Abstract Introduction The COVID-19 pandemic has affected millions of parent in the United States by creating physical health-related stress, changes to work and parenting demands, possibility losing a job or not being able pay bills (Brooks et al., 2020). Such stressors have potential disrupt parents’ basic, essential needs, such as sleep (e.g., Sadeh 2004). Although ample research suggests that disturbances can diverse, negative repercussions on their own behavior functioning Grandner 2020), there remains relatively little evidence linking problems potentially processes children’s behaviors. Given emerging established links between these diverse constructs, proposed study will examine for COVID-19-related prospectively influence via quality subsequent practices. Methods sample is comprised 1003 parents school-aged (5-18 years old) children who completed an initial online survey (from March 27th April 30th 2020) followed up 8 weekly diary assessments. During survey, reported three forms COVID-related stress: stress associated with work/parenting finance-related stress.
